Hi,

I'm new to the group, just found you all yesterday. I started having

my 1st miscarriage last monday, and had a d & c yesterday afternoon.

The fact tha I might have a bicornuate uterus was first suspected

when I had my ultrasound for my first pregnancy. At that time they

said there was no way they could tell, but that I had a high chance

on having premature labor. My pregnancy was pretty uneventful until

the 28th week when I ruptured. Went to the hospital and deliver

prematurely at exactky 30 weeks. My son (now two) was born and did

amazingly well, only 4 weeks in th NICU (I was blessed).

They did a d & c because the placenta did not separate, and the doctor

at the time said my uterus was fine, not bicornuate.....

6 weeks ago I discovered I was pregnant, when I went to the doc at

what should have been week 8, they said again that it looked like I

had a bicorbuate uterus and that I was only 6 weeks and took blood.

My progesterone was low so they started me on prometrium, and told me

to come back in two weeks for another ultrasound. When I returned, I

was miscarrying.

During my d & C the doc did a hysteroscopy and came to the conclusion

that I have a septum, he is propsing surgery in a couple of months.

I have a few questions that I thought someone may be able to help me

with, of course I will talk to my doc, but I am too anxious to wait.

Do we have to wait two months for surgery?

Is the surgey traumatic? and how long is recovery?

I am anxious to have another child and so this is really bothering me.

I there a risk in surgery?

Anyways, thanks for listening.

Miriam
