Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this. After losing over

280 lbs, I have quite a bit of skin hanging from my belly. I think this may

be contributing to the pressure I feel on my uterus. Does that make sense?

I notice that when I lift the skin up, I feel relief. Any insight would be

great!

That is certainly a consideration. You might check into one of the

stomach-supporters they sell for preggos in some stores and catalogs; it

could possibly help. We WLSrs have some unusual dilemmas, don't we? <grin>

Hi,

I am not pregnant yet, but I know what you mean about hanging skin feeling

uncomfortable and putting pressure on inner organs. Presently, I have to

wear a girdle all day or else it hurts me. When I get pregnant and get too

big for a girdle I will have to do something else to lift up all the extra

skin.

I remember seeing something in a pregnancy catalog once. It was called a

pregnancy cradle. It lifted up the flesh at the bottom of a full-term

pregnant woman's stomach without effecting the rest of the stomach area the

way a girdle would. I am trying to look for it again since I anticipate

using it in the future. If anyone has any information on it, I would

appreciate it. I probably have to locate all sorts of pregnancy catalogs to

find this item.

Try www.onestepahead.com I know I have seen exactly what you are talking

about in their catalog.

Good luck!

Just wanted to add something to the posts about this subject. I had a big

tummy BEFORE the WLS surgery. I had lost 100 lbs (about halfway to goal)

before I got pregnant at 9 months post-op, and my tummy seems to be even

" floppier " than before I got pregnant (maybe I am still losing weight in that

area while the baby is gaining). Anyway, I have been wearing my surgery

binder low around my lower abdomen (just when I go out) because it helps

support that loose skin and keeps it from " flapping " around so much. I

didn't think a pregnancy belt that is only about 2 " wide (I have found them

in JC Penney catalog) would do much for my body. I don't know if you were

given a binder after your surgery (mine was an open, so the binder was around

me when I came out of recovery), but I've found it's been helpful.

Gail,

I was just wondering, did you gain weigh with this pregnancy at all? I am

only 6 months out, and currently prego, about 1 1/2 months, I have already

lost 75 lbs, halfway to my goal, and afraid now to gain the weight back due

to pregnancy. I have heard that many pregnant woman that have had the

surgery have not gained much weight, but everyone is different, I was curious

how you are doing? And what about your vitamins, do you just take a prental

vitamin, or do you still take your normal vitamins and a prenatal?, or do you

take two prenatals? And do you have to see your wl surgeon during this

pregnancy? I have alot of questions, as you can see...I hope to hear from

you..Thanks for your help
