I know I've read the answers to these last year but I can't find

them now. First, what can you use as a butter substitute in

recipes? I know coconut oil has been mentioned for some things,

does that work in large quantities like 1/2 cup in a cookie recipe?

Also, how long do you wait with a GFCF kiddo to start them on very

small amounts of Goat Yogurt?

Thanks,

thinks we are starving him! & Sara, 4-1/2 w/ Autism and reflux; Both

SCD for 6+ wks now.

For recipes, use 1/2-3/4 of the called for amount.

So, 1/2 cup butter would be just 1/4-3/8 cup coconut oil. It is

somehow slightly " wetter " than butter.

As for the goat yogurt, I would recommend waiting a couple of

months from starting the diet to introduce the goat yogurt.

Start very slow... 1/4 tsp or less the first day. Gradually work up

from there.

And remember that as with all foods, there will be some ASD

kids that cannot tolerate even the smallest amounts of goat

yogurt. For those kids, I would recommend trying the nut yogurt

using a dairy free yogurt starter.
