Yup - that was me. I did read something that was referred to me in

a Dr. Amy Yasko book but I'm curious if your info is the same. We

eventually did stop Nystatin permanently about a month ago. He was

in the throes of non-stop giggly behaviour, and nothing seemed to

impact it (arbinose scores up to the same level as before treatment)

so I threw my hands up and quit it and the carrot/garlic juice cold

turkey. The giggling stopped almost immediately, pee is OK, but

definitely worse than with the Nystatin - but we still don't have

the social connectedness back that we had when we first started

yeast treatment. Looking back - that was after the round of

Diflucan - so I'm thinking that I might try that once more before

moving on. Oh - also tried the Yeast Aid after the Nystatin stopped

and that didn't make a change either.

Well, since several people are interested in this, I will try to summarize

what she writes about it to the list. Keep in mind that this book is not an

easy read.

She talks about the tetanus vaccine, and states that " tetanus toxoid may

also be able to inhibit neurotransmitter release " .

Then she goes into something really complicated having to do with

synaptobrevin and liposome fusion " .

Main point: " Many parents comment on the fact that their children do better

on nystatin, even in the absence of a yeast infection. It is possible that

in addition to its action as an antifungal, the nystatin may be acting to

aid in the release of neurotransmitters that have been compromised by the

tetanus toxoid. "

Interesting, huh?
