Perhaps someone can get this info to a in Mass. on the other afib board.

She is on Sotalol and inquiring about what antibiotics are contraindicated.

Sotalol is a " QT " drug and one should not take any other QT drugs along with

it.  The antiobiotics to avoid which can be very dangerous and cause Torsades

de Pointe are:

Biaxin

E.E.S.

Erythrocin

Zagam

The following antibiotics are associated with Torsades de Pointes, but at

this time lack substantial evidence for causing Torsades de Pointes but are

still

not advised to take along with Sotalol:

Avelox

Ketek

Levaquin

Tequin

Zithromax

Loretta

Thanks Loretta, I will keep your list so for future reference I will feel

more confindent when prescribed one. I had a few others who said they were OK

taking a couple more so my list is growing now. Thank you all for the response.
