Guest guest
I checked with my EP, and he said about $20,000. That includes himself, room and other hospital services. He said the insurance re-imbursement rate would be lower. I know a cardiac MRI is approx. $1800. and TEE is about the same. When I submitted my referal for the procedure, it went through without a hitch. If the hospital was paid at the insurers rate and not what they billed, I didn't have to pick up any difference. I paid for parking. Rich O
Guest guest
SB: Did you have a PVA by Dr. Natale ? Curious where cost figures came from. I have insurance & was pre-approved for the procedure, but I didn't think it was that expensive. (I'll be finding out soon !) Toni, those that advised you that fee's & hospital costs can be negotiated are 100% correct. My brother paid his own way a couple of years ago. He got all involved to reduce their charges to what insurance would have allowed. I may be wrong, but as I recall the bill was reduced about 40% from what he first received. Thor (still in NSR) Re: PVA Cost Toni, I noted that you are in CA. Do you know that Dr Natale does this procedure in CA? May be your out of pocket will be less than going to OH. I know that the bill is $ 40,000-50,000. tk_wascow@... writes: << Toni: I haven't seen any billing yet. I'd have to fund it myself Ithink ... not sure I can swing it ... but gathering info can't hurt, right? Toni CA

Guest guest
Toni, Have you considered going on disability? SSI or SSDI? They will help you pay your medical bills.
