Guest guest
I had my first a-fib episode 2 months ago. It started at 3 am. Reverted at 3 pm the following day. I was in the hospital for a week. They did an angiogram and found nothing wrong with my heart. I'm on 1x 50mg Tropol XL and nothing else. My heart flutters hard at least once a day, I get hot flashes (feels just like the chemical stress test) that radiate from under the sternum, and I get swooping light pressure from my left temple to center of forehead several times a day. Are these symptoms of the a-fib or side effects of the Tropol? Being in an HMO it takes weeks for appointments. I called about the fluttering, they said I'll get a Holter but it will be 2 more weeks until that happens. I've just talked to Dr. Ruchir Sehra to see if I can get in the Cardiac Cryoablation System Safety Study. He said that it's possible and that they'll contact me soon for screening. Tony 50 and otherwise healthy

Tony, did you convert by yourself, or did they give you a med to cause the conversion? IMHO, it is way early to even be thinking about an ablation at this point if this is your sole history. Why the devil did they subject you to an angiogram? Did you have a stress echo and echo, and were they okay? How long do the daily flutters last? I remember strange stuff when I first started on toprol - tingling fingers, etc. Anxiety can cause the hot flash type of thing.
