Hello, I am new to the afib support group, have had afib for about a

year have had 4 or 5 cardio conversions which did not stick.

The question I have is/does anyone ever get sensations in their chest

both left and right side. I never had these type of feeling before I

got afib.

Thanks

Hello:

Welcome to this group. Can you please sign your first name so that

we may know who you are.

I have had afib for about two years and on occasion will have some

discomfort due to having eaten a meal of soy products or with a

higher amount of fat then usual.

My chest area will tingle and be somewhat sore when I drink soy milk

or eat too much soy cheese.

I hope you will feel better soon and that you'll be able to find out

what is causing it.

I have had about 4 cardioversions and they didn't work for me

either. What meds are you taking and are you over 50?

Regards, Isabelle

Hi, When I first had afib, my chest really ached, because I had been

in and out of it for several days without any medication to control

the heart rate, etc. As I recall (I am hazy about this), it took a

few days to a week for the aching to stop.

Or, are you talking about a sensation of your heart " jumping " ? Lots

of us feel those after we are diagnosed. They are probably a normal

thing called an ectopic, which everyone's heart does a number of

times throughout the day. For some reason we notice then more once

we start to think about our hearts. Also, if you were put on a beta

blocker for afib, the heart will beat more forcefully and make

ectopics more noticeable.

Can you tell us a bit about how you are doing? What meds are you

on? Do you have a good doc?
