Guest guest
Hey Everyone, My name is Gail, I live in Georgia and Believe I may have colon cancer,, Let me tell you a little about my story. All my life Ive had problems with Irritable bowel syndrome, I have taken Lomitil as a teen and when I got older am taking Imodium, since its a over the counter drug. But for the past several years, Id say 5 or more, When I have a movement, Theres blood in it,, and I mean alot,, sometimes it covers all the water in the toilet and you can even see underneath. I have been to a doctor once before and mentioned it to him,, He checked me and said its probably just a little hemroid trouble, At that time, It wasnt bad and I agreed with him that it was probably just that, But, In the past three years it has gotten progressively worse, All of my BM's are like diarahia and all of them have alot of blood, Its taken me three years,, Yes, I know, very stupid of me to do that,, to admit that Its now more than hemroids and now have a colonostomy scheduled for next week. Im also severely weak and tired all the time, As Soon as I eat something, be it a bowl of cereal or a four course meal, I have to go to the bathroom with in 10 minutes of eating. Ive gotten to the point where I dont want to leave the house, or do any outside activities because Im afraid I'll have to go to the bathroom and there wont be one available. Im really sorry I waited so long and am very scared now... Well Its good to find a group that can give me support and maybe understands, I have the test done next week, so I'll let everyone know the results as soon as I get them. Thanks for allowing me to send you all this note telling you a little about me, Hope to meet some understanding friends here. Guest guest
Gail, Welcome,I sincerely hope that when your test results come back, you will not need us,that the problem is something else that's easier to cure. Why you have suffered so long without insisting on a thorough checkup.....well you already know you should have so I won't go there.Instead,I'll keep you in my prayers that things will work out okay and that God will grant you strength while you wait.We will all be waiting to hear how things go. Guest guest
Gail, Good luck next week, I really hope it is something else! You can have these symptoms and have colitis or crohn disease. In my husband's case it was colon cancer. I also have a friend who had the same symptoms and she has colitis. The best thing you can do is have a colonoscopy, that is the best available test. You are doing the right thing and don't worry right now about what you did not do when you saw the blood. I wish you all the luck in the world, keep us informed! All the best (wife of Bjarne with stage 4 cc, 32 years old)
