Guest guest
Hello all. Well, we made it down to 25 mg of lamictal but it is time to SLOW DOWN I think. Langan had been handling the reductions so well, after the first one, that I thought she would be fine if we continued to lower by 12.5 mg every 14 days. WRONG! I should have listened to the people who have been through this.... This past reduction has been a nightmare! Crazy sleeplessness, so cranky I wonder if it is the same child, and- just when you think you've seen it all- today she pulled a new trick. She has always had seizures only upon awakening (whether they wake her up or not, who knows, but it is always right when she wakes up). Today during her nap, her little arms and legs moved like she was having a seizure, only very slow and not rhythmic, like 7 times and then she turned on her side and kept sleeping. Never opened her eyes; never woke up; never showed any sign that she was in distress; never changed her breathing to the strange raspy breathing that is the hallmark of her seizures. Bizarre. I can only assume it was some sort of sleep seizure. I sleep with her so I know she has never done this before. Then, during her afternoon nap, she woke up doing the strange shiver/tremble that she did after her initial wean. Soooooo we are slowing it down. Part of me wonders if it is a sign that we need to speed it up- toxicity or something- since her ketones were over the top and they never are at that time of day. But it sounds from the experiences on this board that slowing down is the right way to go. Any thoughts? , mom to Langan, 18 months old and keto kid since 11/

Guest guest
Thanks, Glenna! We can use all the good thoughts we can get! Last night was a good one- Langan slept better than she has since the last reduction and woke up happy, so we'll see. How is Macie? I think of you guys all the time! >From: jgmsteele@... >Reply-To: ketogenic >To: ketogenic >Subject: Re: Langan Update- Slowing the Wean >Date: Fri, 13 Feb 2004 18:47:17 -0000 > _________________________________________________________________ Click here for a FREE online computer virus scan from McAfee. http://clinic.mcafee.com/clinic/ibuy/campaign.asp?cid=3963
