Guest guest
The Vita-Mix is not your average blender. It has a motor that is over 2 horsepower. It comes with a recipe book with over 200 recipes. And it comes with a video tape also to get you started. Their web address is: www.vitamix.com/household You can make cold fruit drinks, hot soup (you eat it as soon as you pour it from the vita mix - no need to heat it up it is already hot), ice cream, vegetable drinks, and a lot more. I also see an advantage to it if you could not eat solid foods for a period. You can still have a lot of nutrition by using the machine to transform nutritious foods into drinks If you send for information, the materials will tell you all the different types of things you can make. You asked if it was worth it. It was to me. I use it everyday. And I think the quality of the machine is such that it will still be going 20 years from now. But, is it worth it to you? That is something only you can decide. I've had no bad experiences with it. I have mine almost 2 years now. VITA MIX > >I've been recently hearing good things about the vita mix blender from some of the people in this group. I found the product by searching on 'vita mix' and was shocked by the price. It looks like a blender - is it really worth $339-369? > >I would dish out the money if it is really worth it. Please let me know both good and bad experiences so I can make an decision. Also, does this thing come with a recipe book? > >Thanks so much! > > > > > > > >--------------------------------- >

I resisted a food processor for years and now use my new one several times a day. Kitchen toys are not only practical, they are fun but of course not entirely necessary. Just ask your great grandmothers! They worked miracles with not much more than a wooden spoon. Carol F. SCD 4 yrs,.Celiac
