I stand corrected. But,it is sitill a silly idea that

non-emergent transfer ambulance is not EMS.

The distinction is in what they do. What you are licensed to do and

what you actually do are two different things in this case. If you

are not providing E and M, you are not providing EMS, regardless of

what you are licensed to provide.

Just because you are licensed to fly a plane, drive a truck, cut hair,

or kill rodents doesn't mean you are actively doing so. Same thing

applies to EMS. If it makes these transfer jockeys feel better about

themselves to call themselves EMS, so be it. It's no skin off my

nose. Hell, they can call themselves licensed brain surgeons for all

even worthy of wearing the patch, if you wear one. I

am ashamed that a person like you even wants to

associate with the rest of us. You are entitled to

your own opinion and that is cool, but if you are

going to make it in this field in the near future,

you're better off accepting the fact that one day your

EMS AGENCY will be doing transfers if TDSHS gets it's

way. If I was your boss I'dhave you on transfers

everyday just to prove a point.

1! Granted, most of us decided on a career in EMS due to the

excitement of 9-1-1 BUT transfers are the bread and butter of this

Sorry Rob, but I have and can get one where ever I go.

Now you gotta understand that your stubborn stance on

the subject pissed people off. Your thinking sounds

tunnled. It's like your way and that is it. Now like

I said before, I respect your opinion and that's it.

We are all entitled to them. Unfrotunately the only

future EMS has is for the government to fund EMS for

it's expenses 100%. How is it that police and fire

are 100% funded by cities, etc. and we cannot get EMS

to be funded the same? If not for EMS or hospitals,

alot of these government figures or the citizens that

put them there, would not be here. And the way it

looks now some agencies are looking to give 911

services more transfers because it is secure funding,

which does not make sense to me. Why? Because some

of these services are not going to add more trucks to

do these calls, hence the 911 will suffer because the

transfers are secure money.
