Hello Sheila,

My daughter is just restarting the diet because I had reallized

the supplements and nystatin she was recieving had illegals in them.

Right now she is eating meats eggs and juice and in a couple of days

I hope to add some cooked fruits. This breathe problem actually is

something I noticed periodically(aprox 6x in a month give or take)

since she was an infant before I had made any changes to her diet in

fact at time she was mostly breastfed. At this moment she is not

recieving supplement for I am waiting on legal replacements. I have

noticed in the last year or so it has become more noticable. I did

have one doctor comment that maybe it had something to so with blood

sugar. I have had it tested a few times and it has come up normal.

But sometimes I wonder if it could periodically be wrong depending on

what she eats. Could this have anything to do with it? Especially

since sugars in these kids are not being digested properly and

leaking into the bloodstream this way. Also I wonder in the begining

of this diet if my daughters diahrea does not clear up in a couple of

days do I introduce the fruit anyway if not how long do I waite?

Thanks so much for input.

After searching the net what I found was that acidic breath can be

caused by a number of things, lung problems, CF, food etc. If it

dissipates after being on the diet a while that may indicate it has

more of a food connection then anything else.

Especially

If her diarrhea doesn't clear up on the intro it is probably better

to intro some cooked vegetables (if she eats them). Well cooked

carrots or squash are usually tolerated pretty early. After that

some banana or applesauce or pearsauce.

If she is having a lot of diarrhea (frequency) you'll want to keep

her hydrated with diluted juice or the electrolyte mix

under " drinks " at http://pecanbread.com/recipes.html

Let me know if the diarrhea doesn't slow down.
