Guest guest Posted March 16, 2004 Report Posted March 16, 2004 We too have had the local ENT do it. He puts on a table with an operating type light on it and a magnifying system in an open otoscope and uses a small loop to extract the wax. Done in a flash wax > > > I have another question on which I would be grateful for some input: > > I went to hospital with yesterday to get impressions done for new earmoulds. The audiologist saw that he had quite a bit of wax in one ear and recommended to use a drop of oil once in a while to soften it. The ENT consultant looked at the ear as well and recommended to use a puffer (like the one we were given to clear the earmoulds from wax, water etc) to get some water into the ear (eg during a bath) so that the wax can be washed out. We find that potentially dangerous and are not quite happy to use that method. Do you know of any good and safe methods to clear the ear? > > Marie > > mom to , 5 mths, AN, and Felix, 2 yrs 5 mths, hearing > > > --------------------------------- > Yahoo!
