Guest guest
Hi Ro, > Has anyone else experienced their child not having formed BMs since starting SCD? We've been on the diet for about 2 months. Should we just wait this out a bit or does this mean we should try enzymes? Our child is also being detoxed via homeopathy so perhaps it could be the remedies but we're unsure. Although it may in part be due to the homeopathic detox it's probably more likely to be what she's eating. Your previous post said that your daughter eats raisins. If this is the child having trouble this may be one of the culprits. When I first put Dan on SCD although his bm frequency went way down his stools were unformed. They didn't firm up until we cut out all dried fruit for a couple of months. Although the raisins were wonderfully convenient they were to complex for the condition of his gut. Once we backed up to easier to digest fruits and veggies his bm's firmed up very quickly. What other foods is your child eating? Guest guest
RoSe, If she is still having bowel issues of any type it is really too early for the raisins. Dried fruits are really among the last of the legal foods that are introduced. They are so fibrous and difficult to digest. I suggest removing the raisins. If the peanut butter you are using isn't really smooth, maybe you should check out some other brands to find one that is completely smooth. Will she eat cooked fruits? Baked apples are really quite tasty. If she doesn't like them warm, you could cook the fruits, then puree and freeze. Popsicles. You can even make slushes by letting the frozen puree thaw just slighty, then putting it in a blender to chop it up. Also are the bananas you are using fully ripened?
