I've been following the Vioxx conversation. Austin has been taking it for 12 months and is now on 25 mg. 2x day in order to help get off prednisone. I'm not aware of any swelling or tendinitis with it, but I'm going to start paying attention. It is a miracle worker for him, although I certainly want to get him off it asap. It keeps his fever down and makes him feel better in general. I relieves the joint pain some but certainly doesn't get rid of the inflammation. It's safe to say that Austin has a severe case of whatever it is he has (they say systemic JRA).

So.....that's my contribution to the Vioxx discussion.

I experienced the same thing myself almost........I also felt Vioxx didn't even begin to give me pain relief ....... quite a few people complain of bad edema while on Vioxx so I think it must be a fairly common problem and should be watched carefully by anyone trying it.Hugsa Peden" ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Well jeez......very recently I asked about Vioxx, and no-one even mentioned this stuff. I've been taking it for a week now (25 mg).......so how long did others take it before noticing increased swelling?
