Joyce,

You are a wonder! I could link just fine.

The doctor Mom has an appointment with is not in radiation oncology.

I wonder if that means that IMRT won't be considered because

of " turf? " How did manage to bridge the various gaps? Did

the oncologist help with the other specialists?

Thanks a bunch for the link.

Dale,

Thank you for that information. The oncologist's lack of familiarity

with SR and IMRT shook me as I now wonder if, by failing to get Mom

to UVA and into the hands of an oncologist there, I have failed her

best interests. Were it not for this group, I would not have known

about any of these options. Maybe they are not options for Mom, but

at least there is a possibility.

I send thoughts and prayers for you.

Hi Sharon,

went to see Dr Fuss to check the progress on the IMRT.

I did take the time to ask him if they could do IMRT on a liver

tumor of 5cm. He said, absolutely YES, the liver can take a lot

more than the lungs. He was amazed at the answer that you got from

your Oncologist. He said to try going direct to the Radiology Dept

with your Moms films.

He also said that San is doing more of the procedure than

most institutions. He did recommend the University of Iowa for

people living in that region. IF you call the University of Iowa

ask for Dr. Buatti and mention that Dr. Fuss told you about the

procedure.

Hope this helps,

Joyce
