Take care, Georgina hi i was so glad to hear from you . what had happened was he was sick for 7 weeks prior to his death he had fever all the time pains in his legs bad sore throat and 6 months prior to that he had severe neck pain finally after 7weeks running to the doctors all the time they sent him to st chris in philadelphia they did lots of test finally came up with jra i didnt know it was the systemic kind till he came home from the hospital. then they put him on the naprosyn he came home a day before christmas of 96 he was fine all week then new years night was horrible he started with fever again he was acting funny all night severe pain in his stomach and head then the next mourning when he woke he wasnt breathing right and he was lathargic . we took him to the doctors they werent to concerned but i was something wasnt right when we brought him home from the doctors he had a bad seizure we got him to the hospital in are area and he just kept having seizures they didnt know what to do so they called st chris they came and got him he was put into a coma to get him there but when they got to hospital he was brain dead did you ever here of reyes syndrome that is sort of what happened he was allergic to naprosyn they need to have a test to make sure kids arent allergic thats why i wrote. about your question of liver problems about a year before every thing happened he had mono thats the only problem we knew of . we tried to sue the drug people but it was tol late you only have so many years but it was just to hard to do anything right away we are devastated we miss him so much thank you for taking time to write back .amy Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest guest Posted October 31, 2001 Report Share Posted October 31, 2001 Since my neck fusion surgery, I seem to be going into a flare. I cannot yet swallow my usual Relafen and need a liquid NSAID. Naprosyn has been recommended since it comes as an elixir. Does anyone have any positive or negative experience with it?
