Hi Ally-

This is , your fellow November surgery buddy. I had a saline u/s last

week--my second one ( I had one pre-surgery as well). It's probably different

for everyone, but I have found it's not too bad. They insert a tube, fill your

cavity with saline (this may feel a little crampy, depending on how much they

have to put in to see your cavity well). Then they put in the ultrasound probe

and move it around (a little or a lot, depending on how easy it is to see what

they want to see). But overall, the pain level should be manageable, and it can

be interesting/helpful to focus on the u/s screen and ask questions while they

do it--to keep your mind focused on the info. and sight of your uterine

cavity--kind of fascinating I thought. Anyway, you might have a little spotting

afterward, so it's a good idea to wear a pad when you are done. You can also ask

to take copies of a photo or two with you. Good luck---let me/us know how it

goes....

I forgot to say---take a couple of Advil before your Saline u/s for the cramping

(which should be pretty mild anyway)
