Guest guest
I live in a small town with only a health food store to purchase my nut butters. All of their butters are in pint jars. Are there companies that sell their butters in larger quantities? Maybe a company where I could purchase off line? Thanks, Beverly Son Casey--leaky gut (Trying to get the hang of this diet.) Guest guest
Beverly, Pint-size containers are the norm for the other nut butters (cashew, macadamia, almond, etc.). I've even seen them in 8oz jars. I've been to Whole Foods in very large cities and the 16oz jars are still the norm. I don't think they come in larger containers. I honestly think it's cheaper to buy the nut butters at the store because the shipping is so expensive because the jars are so heavy. But you might be able to find someplace online that runs " free shipping " specials from time to time and that would be the time to stock up. I find that walnuts, pecans and raw cashews are very easy to grind, even in a food processor. I buy peanut butter and almond flour (for things like battering chicken), but the other nuts I just buy raw and grind myself. Guest guest
I also live in a small town. I drive a total round trip of two hours to grocery shop at Whole Foods. I stock up every time I go shopping. I buy my nut butter by the case because Whole Foods gives a discount if you buy by the case. The discount works out to be one free jar of nut butter per case. People always ask what I am using it for and why I am buying so many eggs. My husband went the last time for me. A couple of ladies asked him what we do with all of the nutbutter and he called me on the cell and had me explain to them about the diet. It was pretty funny.
