Guest guest
Hi there Congratulations on the pregnancy. I have uterus didelphys and gave birth to my first son Jake in July this year. I had bleeding at 6 weeks which only lasted one day then at ten weeks pregnant really thought I was having a miscarriage as I had pain with bleeding. I was admitted to hospital and they discovered the majority of the bleeding was from the unpregnant side. It had built up a lining in sympathy with the pregnancy in the left horn and then for some reason realised it did not contain a pregnancy so it shed the lining! It lasted for five days and was not particularly pleasant as it hurt like crazy and I didn't take any pain killers as I was pregnant. I am very pleased to say that the pregnancy continued with no more major dramas and Jake was born two days late!! So the double uterus can easily contain a full term pregnancy! There was some minor bleeding from the pregnant horn; the doctor said that was simply the placenta establishing itself. I really hope all goes well for you; you may want to see another doctor if the one you have is so dismissive (and by the sounds of it; ignorant of mullerian anomolies). All the best tte yodacato wrote: I am new to this group but found it because I have spent endless hours on the internet trying to get more information on this condition. I am 5 and a half weeks pregnant and am having period- like bleeding? I have heard this can be from the non-pregnant uterus, but when I suggested this to my dr. he dismissed it. I am concerned about having a miscarriage because it took me 3.5 years just to get pregnant. Has anyone heard if it is possible to still have your period from the non pregnant uterus? Guest guest
Hi there and to tte Thanks for your response to my question. I had a scan and my dr. saw 3 sacs, 2 in my right uterus and one in the left, but there was no baby in 2 of the 3 sacs and he thought I was miscarrying the 2 sacs (one on the right one on the left). So I am still bleeding, but no cramps or other miscarriage symptoms. I feel grateful to know that i have one little guy in there and hope he is a fighter. Its good to hear that you were actually 2 days late tte. Gives me hope. Thanks again > >Reply-To: MullerianAnomalies >To: MullerianAnomalies >Subject: Re: pregnant with a double uterus >Date: Mon, 22 Nov 2004 10:32:02 +1100 (EST) > >Hi there > >Congratulations on the pregnancy.
