HI EVERYONE,

DIAGNOSED WITH HAVING THE MTHFR GENT ( A BLOOD CLOTTING DISORDER)?

I'VE HAD 4/MC, HAD A SMALL SEPTUM REMOVED ON 9/8/04, RE CALLED AND

SAID I HAVE A MILD CASE OF ENDO. I RETURN TO THE RE ON 10/7 AND

WANTED TO KNOW IF I WILL BE PUT ON BABY ASPRIN, HEPRIN, B12, AND

FOLIC ACID?

I KNOW MOST OF US HAVE BEEN THROUGH EVERY TEST KNOW TO MAN AND

WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE COULD SHARE THEIR EXPERIENCES.

THANKS GUYS,

SUSAN T.

,

Some women with known cloting disorders get treated with Heprin, an

injectable blood thiner. RE's frequently put their patients on asprin 81mg

if there is no sign of a problem.

Hi ,

I have been diagnosed with a mutation in one of the strands of the

MTHFR gene, or heterozygous, as it is called in medical terms. There

is a bigger chance for blood clotting with both strands mutated -

homozygous (and could lead to other heart and artery problems later

in life, if it's in your family history).

Many people, including some of the girls in this forum (see posts on

August 11-13) , would say that the heterozygous is nothing to worry

about during pregnancy. In my case, with 3 m/c and a BU, I'm on a

folic acid complex with B vitamins and a baby aspirin/day. Some more

agressive doctors would want to put me on heparin if I get pregnant

again, but I'm willing to do something more 'natural' first.

Have you been diagnosed with the MTHFR gene? Do you know which one?

Cecilia, 35, BU

3 m/c
