Guest guest
Hi Pat, was just 2 when we got the frame. But he had been walking with a push a long truck toy for about 6 months prior to that so we could have probably got him a walking frame sooner. It wasn't til I saw all the kids with frames at the Charge Family day in Manchester than I decided to ask Physio for one. How old is the little Warrior now? is > > is, Im so delighted to hear about 's walks! > > It made me wonder.. to all you parents over there, around what age > were your little CHARGEr ones started to use frames and how are they > doing now. > > > Btw, I'm getting a Bumbo seat for Aidan from Mothercare!! Guest guest
Hi is! My Little Warrior will be 1 year-old in April, 10 months corrected. I'll ask the PT about this, although the next landmark will be to have him sitted down " properly " and not like he just fell on the seat! LOL Thanks Pat- > > > > is, Im so delighted to hear about 's walks! > > > > It made me wonder.. to all you parents over there, around what age > > were your little CHARGEr ones started to use frames and how are they > > doing now. > > > > > > Btw, I'm getting a Bumbo seat for Aidan from Mothercare!! Guest guest
Basically Pat, the rule of thumb for starting on frames seems to be when the kids can weight-bear on their legs without upper body collapsing. They all achieve this at such different ages. Aidan will let you know. Of course the physio will be able to advise you much better. Guest guest
Pat - We got Ethan's walker when he was around 2 yrs old. Your PT will be able to gage when the best time to start, but they have to be able to support their legs. Ethan used a stander prior to that for about 30-40 min a day for maybe 6 months. Now, he is 3 1/2 years and is cruises around on his walker a mile a minute. Jody Pat wrote: is, Im so delighted to hear about 's walks!
