Guest guest
I am still having a difficult time with the a.m. dose of Norvasc. My face seems tingly and I am disoriented. The p.m. dose was OK; I took 2.5 mg. at about 9 p.m. and I was fine all day, although I don't know what my b/p was in the a.m. because I didn't take it until evening about an hour after I took the Norvasc, then always below normal. I have felt this way on Diltiazam, Toprol XL, Diovan, and Cardizem. There have been recent studies on diuretics and high b/p. The conclusion was that they were the cheapest drugs and the best option for most people. Can some of you tell me if you are on diuretics? I read somewhere that taking diuretics and the loss of potassium can bring on an episode of afib. Also, do most of you take the b/p med in the evening or the morning. Do you find that your b/p reads higher in the a.m.? Last night, my b/p was 118/78 and this morning it was 130/89. Now, these were third and fourth readings, for the first few are way high because I get so stressed taking it! Thanks for any advice or opinions you can give me. Guest guest
Loretta - My experience is very similar to your's. I'm taking cardizem, enalopril, and a small dose of diuretic in the morning and enalopril and coumadin in the evening. Not sure the diuretic does anything. Like you my blood pressure is highest in the morning and then drifts down thru the rest of the day. Some of that is no doubt a result of the morning meds, but I think it's normal even for people not on meds. I also " record " the lowest reading I get. Sometimes its the first one, sometimes it's the third or fourth. Sounds to me like you're fairly normal -- or as normal as we afibbers/flutterers get. Take care.
