Guest guest
Hey everyone- An update from one of the UU's who disappeared from the board for a while... I found out after 3 years of infertility and miscarriages that I have a right-sided UU, two ovaries. We finally got pregnant again and held onto this one with the help of large doses of progesterone (my own levels were close to zero). I'm almost 36 weeks, and everything has gone smoothly. The anxiety and stress during first trimester were unreal, second trimester was better but still nerve-wracking, and now I've completely relaxed. I had good care, was checked every week, and stayed on progesterone up until last week. I had a few scares with cervical shortening, and once it looked like I was dilating, but I just restricted my activities more and things went back to normal. My goal was to avoid bedrest if at all possible. We are having a little girl (obvious from week 14 on, with all those scans!). She has been head-down for a while now, and is growing along a boringly average curve (yay!). No idea if we'll be able to deliver vaginally, but we will give it a shot, since all my providers agree it should be fine. It's amazing to look down at my fat belly with my daughter's feet poking out my side, and remember back to the day I watched my HSG and realized I might never be able to have a child. It was horrendous. I'll never forget how bad the infertility struggle was. But in case anyone is looking for hope, here it is! And if you look back a year or so, there are lots of UU success stories. Good luck to everyone! Maddie UU due the first week of August...
