I made bright orange gelatin for Halloween.

I used 3/4 pineapple juice and 1/4 fresh juice carrot juice.

It tasted like pineapple juice, but it was bright orange. I used a

pumpkin cookie cutter to cut it. I put raisins in for the eyes,

mouth and nose.

The boys loved it.

Grape juice makes a really nice flavor (and color if you use the

purple).

Jody,

How do you make your fresh carrot juice. This is a great idea! I do

have a Vitamix blender, but really do not use it much. Do you use a

Vitamix for this?

Fabulous! Thank you very much. We'll be trying this one today too.

My son's favourite colours are blue and orange... and my daughter's

are pink.

I think I will build on your idea and, to get the other colours, I

will try some beet juice and blueberry juice.

Thanks so much!

" How do you make your fresh carrot juice. "

I bought a cheap juicer at WalMart (less than $20). It works great

and it's not that hard to clean either.

Just push veggies or fruit right down the chute and out comes a

nice smooth veggie or fruit juice. Yum!

A vitamix will chop the fruits and veggies up. A juicer pushes the

juice through, but the more fibrous parts are caught and do not

come out in the juice. So, the juice from a juicer is thinner and

like store bought juce in texture.

I make the cauliflower juice for the non-dairy " ranch " dip recipe

that's on pecanbread.com in my juicer by doing the same thing.

Just push the cauliflower down the chute and out comes a

white-ish colored juice. Peeled zucchini comes out white-ish

too.

Once you are to the point where freshly juiced stuff is well

tolerated, you could probably hide cauliflower and zucchini juice

in the nut milk. :)

Those sound like fun colors too.

Just don't forget to have them eat it with no clothes on...LOL.

Natural food colors are SOOO hard to get out of clothes. They

are fabulous dyes...and nearly permanent...LOL.

Cranberry juice should turn out a very nice shade of pink too. Of

course it will be really sour. I bet you could make a pretty color of

pink using pineapple and cranberry together.

Green - I bet you could use a very small amount of juiced

spinach mixed with pineapple juice to get a bright green color.
