I am fairly new to all of this and never have been sick my entire

life until this January. I have atrial fib. Have been through all

the testing, and even tried the ablation. My cardiologist said it

was too generalized and cannot be done. I am stuck now with having

to take medications. I have tried verapamil, toporol and neither

worked and found myself back into the hospital. I am currently on

tambocor, inderal la (for the high blood pressure) xanax for anxiety

and coumadin. They are trying to take me off Xanax which makes me

calm and put me on paxil. Have tried Zoloft, but they give me more

palps. I think the paxil is doing the same. I just want to feel

normal and go back to doing things I enjoy. I have made a complete

life-style change and still I feel like things get better for a

while and the boom! It back ny! All the tests were good

results and nothing else is wrong with my heart. I feel very alone

and don't really know anyone else to talk with this about it. I

want to go to Cleveland for a second opinion because these seems

like it is not working. My primary doc says to give it a few more

months. I have already have lost much time. My husband is

wonderful and is there for me which means so very much, but I feel I

am a burden to him since we never know what is going to happen

next. Sorry this is a book, but needed to get this off my chest.

This is one of those days where I though a hospital visit was going

to be in order for the day. I would love to hear from someone else

and share experiences. It is very hard for me right now. Thanks

for the post.

Hi, Kat,

A few thoughts. Has your doctor considered dofetilide, which has

helped many people here? Also, there are varying degrees of quality

among docs, so I would encourage you to talk to Cleveland. And

perhaps if they really can't do a regular afib ablation, you would be

a candidate for an ablation maze.

Hang in there...
