Guest guest
Hi Kris, welcome. I am not UD, but what I have learned on this site, I agree that your UD should not be causing early m/c. I assume since you have been seeing an RE for so long that you have had all the bloodwork and other tests done regarding fertility and m/c. Does your RE have lots of MA experience?? Is there any way you could actually be SU, as SU is very well known for causing early m/c. I just wanted to say welcome and to wish you the best. Also, if you don't mind, I was wondering how much IUI and IVF cost, as my brother may very likely have to try those. Thanks, and I hope you get a lot of info here. , 25, SU

Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for responding so quickly. No I don't think there's any way they could have mistaken my UD. They saw 2 completely separate utes during my lap, so UD it is. I have been through the gamut of tests and other than endo, they don't see anything else wrong. That was lasered out 1 year ago, and my RE doesn't feel there's any need to check it again. I have to say that AF isn't as painful as it had been when I had the endo too, so I'll just guess it's okay since I have nothing else to go on. No, my RE is not to well learned about UD. He's done some resections (3) in the past, but I think that's about it. He tells me continuously how " special " I am. It's fun being special when it doesn't cause heartache, ya' know? My IUI were covered by insurance so I don't really know how much they would have cost, but I think I've heard somewhere in the $3,000 range. IVF costs vary too. I'm with SIRM in NYC, and they have a plan where you can try 3 fresh ivf's with all FET's for $16,000. If you still end up without a baby at the end of that, they'll refund some money, depending on which category you fit into. Sorry your brother might have to experience this. It all sucks. Best of luck Kris
Guest guest
Hi Kris, Welcome to the board. I think you'll find a lot of great info and very supportive, knowledgeable members here. I also have UD, much like you, equal size etc. I have had three, full-term, relatively 'normal' pregnancies and have three great kids. I wanted to address your point about bloodflow because I have heard this previously in relation to UD, but not to do with first trimester MC. I was told it CAN become an issue later in pregnancy and may be related to Intrauterine Growth Restriction (IUGR) in UD babies. All my kids were on the small side, even at full term - under 7 lbs - and my OB/GYN thought this could be due to reduced blood flow to each individual uterus. Apparently there is some number of main arteries that go to the uterus, and in the instance where there are two uterine cavities, the number of arteries isn't duplicated, so each side only gets 'half' - not sure I am explaining this well, perhaps you could do more online research. The bottom line is that UD does generally have good pregnancy outcomes, so there is hope. I would suggest trying to find a doctor that has some experience with managing UD patients specifically, as well as getting as informed as possible on your own. I found I had to insist on different approaches to my care, and I did get what I asked for, but only because I knew what to ask. Best of luck to you, I hope you find the encouragement and support here that will help in your journey. It's a great group. Guest guest
Kris, Hi! I am also UD w/ 2 equal size uteri. Your post caught my eye... > My first pg was > achieved naturally, but ended in m/c at 9 weeks due to > chromosomal abnormalities. I had 1 end @ 6w & 1 @ 9w. Chromosomal abnormalities were to blame. DH and I were geneticly tested but came back normal. > uterus and thinks it is due to the lack of bloodflow. Interesting...After my last m/c, tests showed that I had a potential problem with homocystine levels (bloodflow/bloodclots). I was told to take baby aspirin daily. During my last cycle though (after 4 mo of aspirin), I spotted on and off for 2 wks then had another period. My dr said it sounded like an irregular period (no other symptoms) and it did clear up. I currently have no idea where I am in my cycle (I think a couple dpo) and am only taking baby aspirin from O day to period. I think that the baby aspirin was too much for me every day. Hope that helps, C. 28, UD 2 m/c
