Guest guest
Alrighty... Now that I've finished being sidetracked by all the very interesting posts here ... The real reason I've joined it because I really need some great treat recipes (developed through experience with the diet)for my children. Does anyone have any favourites that even the non-SCD kids swoon over? The easier, the better. Thanks, KimS

Our all time favourite treat is the peanut butter cake recipe. It can be baked as cupcakes, muffins, brownie etc. It also lends itself very well to adapting. You can change the nut butters or to make it a little moister through in a little ripe banana, ccoked squash etc. My kids love it iced but will eat it plain or with pnut butter spread on top. You can find it here under Peanut butter Cake. They also love the peanut butter caramels (scroll down the same link to candy). Guest guest
Wow! That was fast! Thanks a lot Sheila. I'm going to the kitchen to try it right now. Excellent picture. What a fun looking cake! KimS - SCD Nov 2002 > Our all time favourite treat is the peanut butter cake recipe. Guest guest
I second the caramels.....they *are* awesome! Most kids like merigues. Now is a good time to try them since most of us have our heat going and our houses are nice and dry! I've used the pb brownie recipe at pecanbread to make cookies. And the pb banana pancakes or the pancakes with a twist recipe from BTVC were a big hit when we had friends over for a " breakfast for dinner " party. Macaroons are good, but better for later on because coconut is hard on the gut. Chrystee
