Hi. I read some posts here about 3 years ago when I was diagnosed

with UD and just this week I found out I was misdiagnosed and have a

full septum from the top of my uterus down through my cervix (making

it seem like 2) and 2 inches into my vagina! So now I'm back to

this group to get information! My previous RE had said I had a

vaginal septum but missed the fact that it went all the way up! I

really like my new RE and she seemed totally on the ball and ready

to fix things. I'm scheduled for it to be removed at the end of

October and she said I shouldn't have any problems after that. I

may have a normal uterus! That's something I never thought I would

have!!! I found out I had UD (but turned out to be wrong!)after I

had a miscarriage around 11 weeks. I found out that the fetus had

stopped growing at 8w2d. They sent me to the RE who ended up being

wrong. They tried IUI with Clomid & one with Femara but neither

worked. The next step was injectables (Gonal-F) and we bought

everything and then... found out we were pregnant on a totally med-

free, natural cycle. They warned me of all that could go wrong but

I ended up having a totally normal pregnancy and delivered 4 days

early by C-section. They tried to induce me but my daughter was not

dropping and my cervix was not getting any more dilated than a

finger tip and I had absolutely no contractions even with the

pitocin! My OB said after looking in there, " It didn't look like

there was any way she was coming out the normal way. " Not sure what

that meant but was happy to have a C-section and have my baby in my

arms! I figured the 2nd uterus was pushed aside by my baby but now

I realize that it was the septum that was pushed aside. My daughter

was on my right side. I got pregnant on my left side when she was

11 months old but lost that pregnancy at 6w2d. But my daughter

turned 2 this weekend and now I've been handed the possibility of

not having any more pregnancy losses. Evidently my embryos were

implanting on the dead septum and having it removed could mean more

kids for me. Hopefully! Here's to hope!!! =) Please anyone who's

gone through something similar, please respond.

Thanks!

What a story!! Welcome back. I'm glad that you delivered dd just

fine. I'm really sorry that you had another m/c after dd.

My story isn't similar...even though my ob told me I was BU based on

u/s taken during my 12w m/c, I pushed to see an RE and get a correct

diagnosis of SU (luckily I found this group for the knowledge and

strength that I would need to get through all those appts..first

surgery was not successful, but 2nd surgery was a charm.)

I just wanted to welcome you back and am glad that you shared your

story with us. There are some WILD misdiagnosises out there...I

forget the members name, but she had an SU resected only to find out

later during her csection that she was in fact UD!!! She wanted to

know what the heck her dr thought he had resected prior to her pg.

I wish you the best with the surgery and let us know if you have any

questions about it.
