Guest guest
Thanks, Mikell. I was especially interested to hear that your mother received DES by injection. My mother received something via injection and the doctors tend to say that it probably wasn't DES then. She tried to get her medical records but the hospital doesn't keep stuff that long, apparently. I'm told I have a " generous T " . I've had two pregnancies, a D & C, a C-section, and numerous ultrasounds before they figured this out. So I guess it's somewhat subtle. What is your prognosis? (They think I'll be just fine with a cerclage next time, and they are going to keep a close eye on me.) Thanks, again , 32, T
Guest guest
, Some where along the line I must have missed your original e-mail. I tried finding it but could not but I wanted to say hello and let you hear my story. It sounds like ours have familiar parts. My mom almost lost me twice when she was pg. She is a nurse and said she does not think that she took DES. I was born in May 1972 and it could be that she did or did not. RE does not know but I have some things that are consistent with exposure but nothing that screams out to anyone. I got pg with ds in 5/2000 with no problems. I had him 2 weeks late in Feb 2001 via c-sec after 41 hours of labor and he was over 9 lbs. Had complications with my delivery but no one thought any more about them. I started trying for #2 and started having problems. Got diagnosed PCOS and started working on that (though I am not the typical case what so ever - very mild) and had an hsg done last Nov which showed that I had a t-shape uterus which I am surprised that no one caught during my c/s. No one was concerned about it since I got pg with ds and carried him to a large size so I was deemed as having a good sized t-shape. I did have issues and still do with lining. It is usually on the thinner side. Mikell is very knowledgable about everything!!! Guest guest
Thanks, Kathleen. I don't seem to have some of the other DES issues. I've had no problems concieving (knock on wood) and had only one early m/c. (only one, as if...) My ovaries and tubes seem happy and healthy. I've also joined the DES listserv so I'll see what else I can learn over there. In a sense, I suppose it doesn't matter if we were exposed or not, we've got what we've got, but... Obviously, the more information the better.
