Guest guest
Mikell, I looked this up again, and many of the sites say that MURCS is the ABSENCE of the uterus/vagina and sometimes kidneys, though some of the sites just say MURCS is aplasia (deformation) of those organs. So I don't know. If MURCS can be assigned strictly on deformation, than I would say that a lot of us here on this site would also be diagnosed with MURCS Association, though I'm not sure how many other women have back issues. My back actually doesn't bother me, but when I was in elemnetary school they used to do annual checks for scoliosis and they always had to check me two or three times. Then when I got my CT scan done for follow up on my pelvic kidney, they said I have " bilateral pars defect at the L5 level with spondylolisthesis at the L5-S1 level " which my urologist who read the CT scan results and my general practioner didn't think was a big deal because I never have back pain. Any of the rest of you ladies have back issues??? , 25, SU > > Mikell, > None of my doctors have mentioned MURCS, but I looked it up > previously and it seemed so much more severe than anything I have. > Also, all of my problems (my kidney, my back, my uterus) were all > detected at different times by different people, thus I'm not sure > that any one of them had all of the info. Guest guest
I have mild-to-moderate scoliosis, which has never been treated. I have a lot of hip and lower back pain on and off. Don't know about kidney though.....I'd like to know if this is common for people with MAs as well.... , 36 SU with a " dip " (resection in Nov.?) Guest guest
<<<<Any of the rest of you ladies have back issues??? I have had back problems since I was in sixth grade. If I sat for too long I would get excruciating back pain that would only go away if I laid flat on my back with my legs in the air. You can imagine how horrible taking SATS was. I could never get through those kinds of tests without wanting to lay on the floor right there! I went to many DRs and had every test imaginable done but no-one could find a cause for the pain. They eventually blamed it on me being a gymnast. (Pretty lame!) Who knows if it MA related or not. Also, every school year, the school nurse would always find protein in my urine during my sports physical. I would have to get a special letter every year from a DR. stating it was OK to play sports etc. I also had every test on the planet to figure this out including IVP (hated it) and noone could figure this out either! Maybe it is an MA mystery! Kim 32 SU resected 02/04 PG 15w6d
Guest guest
I also have low back pain, it comes and goes, I cannot sleep on my stomach, I see a Chiropractor on occasion and certain activites make it work, like rafting. My Chiroprator took xrays a while back and told me my lower spine did not completly fuse. I have a UD so that may have something to do with it. But if I sit too long I start to have serious problems I also cannot wear high heals. I have a script from my MD for Pain pills and muscle relaxers and that helps but the big thing is not allowing myself to get too tense. I also go to massage therapy 2x's monthly, which some insurance carriers will pay for if you get you MD to write a script for it. Hope this helps. 26, UD since Dec 03. > <<<<Any of the rest of you ladies have back issues??? > > I have had back problems since I was in sixth grade.
