Rita,

I had a terrible time with the HSG. The Dr couldn't get the catheter in and

suggested that we cancel the whole procedure because I couldn't stop squirming

from the pain. Was your doctor having a hard time getting the catheter in?

I also had a hard time with the last IUI attempt because the RE couldn't get the

catheter in. It turned out this was because my uterus was blocked from post-D & C

scarring (aka Asherman's Syndrome). Uterine scarring can also occur following a

pregnancy. Is it possible that you could have this scarring? Do you have a

history of scarring or Asherman's Syndrome?

I hope your doctor's can figure this out soon.

Best wishes,

Mikell, 32

anyone have trouble with HSG? (ttc)

Hello, I used to be part of this MA group several years ago. I had

SU resection and got pregnant with DS. Now I'm TTC#2. I had trouble

with HSG today as the radiologist couldn't perform it because my

cervix was far back or something. I had no problem with sono-HSG

which was performed by RE after my SU resection.

Anyone had trouble with HSG? I needed HSG to check that my Fallopian

tubes are clear. Hope to get to know some of you. I may not keep up

with everyone and I appreciate your patience.

Rita

Hi Rita-

I am going to be having my first HSG this coming Tuesday (I'm a little

nervous) and hopefully having my septate uterus resected in November. I had a

problem-free sono-hsg as well recently. Sorry I don't have much to offer. But

good

luck with everything--

Yup, I had big problems. I am UD and although my right side

was easier to get to, it was still quite painful and then there's my

left side. Good God that hurt! I think the canal leading to my cervix

is longer which made it more difficult for the RE to reach it, and

then of course had a hard time getting through it. Let's just say it

was horrible.I hope you end up with a much better experience

than I did. Hope I didn't scare you, but being that you've had it

done once, I'm hoping it won't be too bad the second time

around.
