, you've come to the right place. There are a few people on this

board that have had PVI ablations in CA. And, if you don't mind going

north one of the top Docs in the field, Natale from the

Cleveland Clinic, travels to Marin General Hospital once a month to

consult and do procedures. I'm sure you'll be getting the info you

need from the posters from CA. very shortly.

Dr Natale's info:

,

There is an electophysiologist surgeon at UCSD Medical Center (in

San Diego) that performs the ablations. He is Feld. I have

not had the procedure done and I am planning on waiting. He was

very late in seeing me for an apointment because on that day, (when

he was not scheduled to perform surgery), another surgeon whom he

had trained, needed help with a complicated surgery. So, he must be

one of the more " veteran " surgeons there since he has trained others.

He didn't hesitate to want to do an electrophysioloy study on me and

because he was behind in his appointments that day " due to the

surgery thing " he didn't have much time to sit and talk with me. He

seems to be a very confident surgeon because he didn't hesitate to

let me know that he is confident with his success rates. And that

if an ablation didn't get fixed the first time around, he could go

in again an have a better chance at fixing the problem by doing a

touch up. So.... I kind of felt that I might wait a bit.

In the other A Fib Support Group ( p_atrial_fib ), you will see many

posting from someone named " Jimbo2083) about his surgery that he had

last month with Dr. Feld. Though he has gone through a lot, you may

want to ask him what his thoughts are about his surgery with doctor

Feld.

I am waiting to see what surgical advancements can be made before I

subject myself to an invasive procedure.

I hope that this will help you a bit.

Just FYI, Dr. Feld is technically good, but has few people skills. He tends

to be arrogant and condescending ... I met him and how he treated me

infuriated my cardiologist who had referred me so much that he won't refer to

him any

more. Technically good is positive, but I'd want a doctor who would also know

how to answer my questions and at least act concerned, not like I was another

notch on his " I'm wonderful " belt.

Could you give a fuller address of the other group? Many thanks.
