Guest guest
Hi Liz and everyone else: I found the order from my doctor for the test. The test is called a CT angiography. (That is what is checked on the sheet.) The top of the sheet says " Electron Beam CT Request " . This is the test that has 2 parts. If they find something after the first part, then they apparently go in thru your arm. This does find coronary artery disease and not just calcification. There is another test that my doctor mentioned that finds only calcification, which is helpful, but may not be enough. Anyway the test is very new and is administered at UCLA Medical Center. Guest guest
Oh dear...I have no words to adequately express to you for all you are enduring. It is so horrible to have this terrible infestation and affliction, but then to have to share that heartbreak with an innocent loving dog who struggles so to remain in your world. As you do to keep her there. I do not know much about mitral valve disease in dogs. I do not know if there is a surgical correction, nor if you could afford it even if there was one. I can not begin to offer any reasoning behind this extra grief you are made to suffer, but will think of it as God's way of bringing together two suffering souls to keep each other company during these days of trial. You sweet doggie to give you love and support and you to give her love and comfort. I believe I am staying in this hotel as much for my little dog as for myself. She went to the doctor before I did. My heart breaks more for her misery then my own. I will make sure she eats and gets her medication before I do the same for myself. Perhaps many think I am crazy for doing so. But then, they have not had a small dog provide the comfort to me that my little girl does. When we are both in pain, it is she who comes to me to lick my hand and press against me to give me comfort. She will not leave my side when I am sad, and will attempt to clean my face of tears. When I leave her at times, she will not eat or drink, nor leave the front door as she waits for my return. She is my best friend and I can honestly say that without her, I could not have remained sane throughout this horrible experience. Is she sick, yes. She too has a bad heart and I was told she would have a very short life. She has epilepsy and now pancreatitis...but I do not give up on her, nor her me...and still 10 years later she is with me. I do not know if your little dog will be with you forever, or even if only for a few more weeks..but the love and support your doggie gives you, is priceless and I believe a gift. I feel your agony through this though and wish I could help. I can only pray for you both. God bless, Terry > >> > > > > > > > > > > > >> > > > > > > > > > > Hi everyone, > >> > > > > > > > > > > > >> > > > > > > > > > > I was wondering how many of you find black, red > >> and blue > >> > > > > > > fibers > >> > > > > > > > > all over you? > >> > > > > > > > > > > > >> > > > > > > > > > > Has anyone tried running a lint roller over your > >> body, > >> > > > > > > clothes, > >> > > > > > > > > bed > >> > > > > > > > > > > sheets, scalp, etc? > >> > > > > > > > > > > > >> > > > > > > > > > > Whenever I do this, the lint roller ends up with > >> hundreds of > >> > > > > > > > > > > thousands, of black, red and blue fibers. Guest guest
I know, and my heart goes out to everyone. I had no idea that such an evil existed. I had started to believe that I was being punished, but then it occurred to me that it was not punishment, rather it was an evil which sought to test the strength or fragility of my faith. On the darkest of days, I have tried to stay strong and to pray, for those I loved and for the new friends I have found here. To pray for all those suffering here. With their hope in shreds and their weary bodies taxed beyond their endurance, I had no idea any one could be pushed so hard. But I see the courage here. I see the tenacity of spirit that makes everyone here get up that next day to do battle. And I know that little by little, each has won a small victory that has helped to sustain them. The big victories may still be elusive for many of us, and the answers to our questions go unanswered. But we have each other and I think there is strength in numbers and there is power in knowledge and information. I just have to believe that it is going to somehow be okay for everyone. That everyone here is going to find that peace and contentment they so deserve. When we are both in pain, it is she who comes to me to lick my hand and press against me to give me comfort. She will not leave my side when I am sad, and will attempt to clean my face of tears. When I leave her at times, she will not eat or drink, nor leave the front door as she waits for my return. Guest guest
I am so so very sorry for you and your little girl. I am hoping today she is better. I have not been able to post of late as I have had to sort some things out. But just know you have both been in my prayers. I do believe that those on this site are here not just to seek answers, but to encourage and support those who are struggling. And perhaps through this unfortunate ordeal, we are made stronger. I can only think how miserable, sad and downtrodden your little dog would be if it weren't for you. As hard as this is on you, you are performing a great kindness that she would not have had otherwise. Which is why she loves you and greets you so warmly. The loss of anyone, be they a family member, friend or pet, is a tragedy and hardship in our life. But if we give them love before they leave us, then we are repaid by those all to brief moments of love which is returned. Some of us have years with loved ones which is often taken for granted until it is almost over. When a loved one is sick, we encapsulate all those years down into a few moments. The love is just as rewarding and deserved and perhaps more intense when the time is short. Your little dog is basking in a love she might not otherwise have had. I think, if she was asked and she could answer, she would count herself very fortunate. Guest guest
Oh sweetie, I do know this and understand and feel your pain deeply. Sometimes we can be strong for others, put on a brave show, but when someone we love, even a little dog who comes to you so sick, how sad when you love her with all your heart. And now you suffer that love as she is so sick. All your own sickness is amplified and despair reaches in and takes hold. It was enough that you suffered, enough that you have gone through so much, sacrificed so much. But to now have this little dog, with all her difficulties will break you down like nothing before. I know that your love for her is great, but the additional work of cleaning up after her adds to your already exhausted body. Your feet, which probably did not hurt too terribly bad, are suddenly so much worse as the stress of this situation grinds you down. I can only say that the little dog will get better with the antibiotics. It is possible that her heart valve condition is related to Bartonella. This is a possible complication of the disease. I can't say that I really know that. But I hold out hope after doing some reading. Perhaps this little dog will get well, her heart will get well on the abx treatment. I know if she gets well, your feet will feel better and your heart will soar. My little dog has been so very very sick herself. She did not wish to eat and she was hurting a lot. She could not walk as her front legs hurt so bad. And her liver enzymes were so very high that if not corrected her liver was going to fail on her. But if I took her off her medications, she would have relentless seizures. So, I found an herbalist who concocted a mixture of chinese herbs and she is now taking less of the Phenobarbitol she was on. But, she still does not have an appetite, she has diarrhea and can not walk. So I convince the Vet to treat her for Lyme and Bartonella. Suddenly she is eating again, she is walking without limping and the diarrhea is going away. This little dog was going to die soon. But now...she is not. Miracles happen. Your little dog could have a miracle. You could have a miracle. And I will wish that for you with all my heart.
