Heart scan

Hi Liz and everyone else:

I found the order from my doctor for the test. The test is called a CT

angiography.

(That is what is checked on the sheet.) The top of the sheet says " Electron

Beam CT Request " . This is the test that has 2 parts. If they find something

after the first part, then they apparently go in thru your arm. This does

find coronary artery disease and not just calcification. There is another

test that my doctor mentioned that finds only calcification, which is

helpful, but may not be enough.

Anyway the test is very new and is administered at UCLA Medical Center.

As u know have only had wee dog 6 weeks n she lovely

First thing tomake me smile since mites began

She got heart scan today

I was physically sick

She has mitral valve heart disease n.is only 19 month old

Vet said quite severe

May only have months to live

I feel depressed ill

N so sad

She on abx

At vet every week

Another scan in a month

80 pounds a time

I just want to crawl into a hole n close my eyes tonite

Feel so sad for her

She,stil quality of life

But how long

N how,to aford

N stil bites feet

Oh lord

Yes I will give her all my love

But need to battle this sadness too

I know u would be as sad as well

We have all been thru so much

N just need some respite from misery

I have to learn not to trust like I did

And to accept pain n difficulty as part of life

That is such a hard one!!

Hi Ilike trees

They tolds me my dog had adisons disease & needed pills to live , they saved

his life , I gave them to Lonzo my pet noufundland (sp? its late) , I gave them

to him for 1 year then ran out of money for them ( I was 18 yrs old the ) & he

did fine with out them , he lived 7 more years ... Praise God (we prayed hard )

Im glad ur lovely dog lived that long:-)

Alas my wee springer spaniel has already quite significant heart problem leaking

left n right atrium

The awful thing is that with mitral valve disease they cant give medicine to

stop it turning to heart failure

Only 5 percent dogs have from birth

My lovely girl born this way

That why the evil people sold me her

And I believed it cos they had child adhd torment her

Well I have borrowed money

Was prepared to do anything

N now all can do is give abx

Repeat heart scans

When deteriAte to heart failure

Then they give medicine

But vet say with her condition at that stage will only last months

Will look into herbs

Giving homeopathy

Salmon oil

Apple cider vinegar in water( slight duiretic)

But bill if you could see her ud love her

Shes great

An only had 6 weeks

Will do very best

But the thought of having to watch her deteriate to heart failure

N not able to stop that or give meds to help

Oh dear...I have no words to adequately express to you for all you are enduring.

It is so horrible to have this terrible infestation and affliction, but then to

have to share that heartbreak with an innocent loving dog who struggles so to

remain in your world. As you do to keep her there.

I do not know much about mitral valve disease in dogs. I do not know if there

is a surgical correction, nor if you could afford it even if there was one.

I can not begin to offer any reasoning behind this extra grief you are made to

suffer, but will think of it as God's way of bringing together two suffering

souls to keep each other company during these days of trial. You sweet doggie

to give you love and support and you to give her love and comfort.

I believe I am staying in this hotel as much for my little dog as for myself.

She went to the doctor before I did. My heart breaks more for her misery then

my own. I will make sure she eats and gets her medication before I do the same

for myself. Perhaps many think I am crazy for doing so. But then, they have

not had a small dog provide the comfort to me that my little girl does. When we

are both in pain, it is she who comes to me to lick my hand and press against me

to give me comfort. She will not leave my side when I am sad, and will attempt

to clean my face of tears. When I leave her at times, she will not eat or

drink, nor leave the front door as she waits for my return. She is my best

friend and I can honestly say that without her, I could not have remained sane

throughout this horrible experience. Is she sick, yes. She too has a bad heart

and I was told she would have a very short life. She has epilepsy and now

pancreatitis...but I do not give up on her, nor her me...and still 10 years

later she is with me. I do not know if your little dog will be with you

forever, or even if only for a few more weeks..but the love and support your

doggie gives you, is priceless and I believe a gift. I feel your agony through

this though and wish I could help. I can only pray for you both.

I know, and my heart goes out to everyone. I had no idea that such an evil

existed. I had started to believe that I was being punished, but then it

occurred to me that it was not punishment, rather it was an evil which sought to

test the strength or fragility of my faith. On the darkest of days, I have

tried to stay strong and to pray, for those I loved and for the new friends I

have found here. To pray for all those suffering here. With their hope in

shreds and their weary bodies taxed beyond their endurance, I had no idea any

one could be pushed so hard. But I see the courage here. I see the tenacity of

spirit that makes everyone here get up that next day to do battle. And I know

that little by little, each has won a small victory that has helped to sustain

them. The big victories may still be elusive for many of us, and the answers to

our questions go unanswered. But we have each other and I think there is

strength in numbers and there is power in knowledge and information. I just

have to believe that it is going to somehow be okay for everyone. That everyone

here is going to find that peace and contentment they so deserve. This I pray

for and believe, Terry

You are a nice woman!

I realy like where u are coming from

So many nice people on here!

Very lovely the bond u n ur,dog have

I had my cat 18 years n we bonded very deeply

Only had this beautiful dear dog 6 week yet getting close n do love her

So when she ill like last night breaks my heart

I was very scared

Im like you

Put them first

She,was sick till nothing left

Only 19 month old

Waiting to see how her tum is,today

Amoxycillin to stop infection in heart

But cant have her sick like that

And before heart scan vet say give abx empty tum

I wasnt keen but did

Well poo everywhere

Upset tum

Then sick yesterday

Gona need new flooring before long

Thank god for dettol

But as long as she bright

Today tail wagged n warmth in gums

I dont know how to get thru this emotionaly n financial

I live alone

Just me to deal with it

Cant believe couple sold me such ill dog

Cruel

Sad a lovely young girl not just havin chance to live her life with me n us to

grow together over the years

Closer n bonded

Dont want her to be unwel

But all I can do is give all my love

Though im very drained tired today

But a strength does come in the difficulties somehow
