Sharon,

This is very common or at least this is what I have gone thru for

the last four years with .

He acts like there is not a thing wrong with him at the Oncologist

office and when I do have to call them they act surprised. I

finally had to tell them that he puts on the funny, joking act and

once we are in the car a whole new personality arrives.

I think it is their way of not wanting to give in. Just take a deep

breath and take one day at a time. I know it's not easy, but can

you imagine how they are feeling.

Best Wishes,

Joyce

Sometimes depression causes this or extreme fatigue. She may be trying to

please you and it might be that puts a little strain on her. Let her know she

doesn't always have

to put on a happy face,it's ok to moan and groan then put it aside. Easier

said then done. You are always so positive and upbeat, which is a great way to

be,some others

will always see a glass half empty to your s which is half full. Just hang

tough and

sometimes it's just a matter of time and acceptance. Hugs and prayers Nick &

Jane

Sharon, Bert tells me everything that is going on and when I remind

him to bring it up with the doctor when he sees him he always says

yes. When we get there, all is well!!!! Basically, for us Thank

God, all is well but it wasn't always that way. Hence the reason why

he landed in the hospital last year for over a week with a severe

colon infection brought on by the 5fu and non-stop diarrhea.

More GRRRRRRRR

Hi Sharon,

It's good to hear that she is taking the tests. Now you will know

what is involved and she can make an educated decision about

treatment.

About feeling perky around doctors, I thought it was just a man

thing. My husband always puts on a good show, just as the others

have mentioned. I think that is why when he decided to quit chemo,

his doctor was very upset. Jeff had put on such a good acting job

when he saw his onc. that the onc. couldn't understand why Jeff was

saying that he couldn't tolerate it anymore.

When he was around me and family, he didn't bother putting energy

into making us believe that all was well. Maybe it is there way of

trying to avoid more tests or more questions??

Oh well, Just hang in there. It does take alot out of them, when I

put myself in my husbands place I don't think I would take things

anywhere as good as he does.

My thoughts and prayers are with your mom and your family.
