He is awesome, although not all that warm and fuzzy at times. He is a busy and popular guy so getting time with him is tough, but if you need it you get it. He gives you his home number and tells you to call. I loved the whole program at Sinai, I kept calling it Hotel Sinai. Very relaxed and supportive atmosphere. Joan Dunne is absolutely wonderful and she will check on your wife daily. Nurses are all good too and even the fellows are good. I am 11 weeks post op today and I am getting around without my cane--but don't share that with Dr. Mont! haha I'm suppose to be on it until next week. I just feel so darn good I keep forgetting that I am suppose to need it. The pain is gone immediately and I found the post op pain to be minimal. I had them take me off the pain meds by Wed, I had my surg on Monday. I went home on 800mg Ibuprophen and Tylenol and I really didn't need those. Do beware that the nurses will try to keep your wife on the pain meds but if she doesn't need them...Tell her to follow her body, she will know better than anyone. If you can, request Dawn Ledbetter as the anesthesiologist. Great gal, definitely warm and friendly A nice compliment to Mont's personality. She also gave me some great insight into my post op mgmt that I didn't feel the pre-op anesthesiologist gave me. I did my surgery with a spinal so I was not put under general anesthesia. She told me that if the morphine made me sick-- which it did,a lovely wave of nausea everytime I hit the pump, that I could request another post op narcotic. Don't remember what they gave me but it did not make me sick and that is always a good thing. I wish your wife the best, she will LOVE life without pain. Have a safe trip out East, thank heavens hurricane Isabel was last week!
