Guest guest
Hi all- Just wanted to know if there was any info out there on septate uteri and fertility? Personally, I haven't had an issue (yet)...but just wanted to learn as much as I could. Thanks, Grazia
Guest guest
Grazia, I have no info, but was told by my RE and OB that they have nothing to do with each other. I had a septum removed in Dec. 02 and had to use clomid, hcg, and prometrium, to get pregnant. My RE said I would still have my fertility issues even if I didn't have my septum. I hope you find the answers you are looking for. Joann Mommy to Madison 2/16/04 > Hi all- > > Just wanted to know if there was any info out there on septate uteri > and fertility? Guest guest
Hi Grazia, My RE and Perinatologists have also told me that there is no connection between fertility difficulties and SU. They are actually quite defensive on this point - I guess some docs believe otherwise. The one fertility-related issue they do raise as a possibility is very early miscarriage. They do admit that conception may not be an issue, but if implantation occurs on the septum the pregnancy may fail very early, possibly even before the woman knows she is pregnant. Good luck, a > Hi all- > > Just wanted to know if there was any info out there on septate uteri > and fertility? Guest guest
Grazia, I don't think that there is a direct connection like PCOS but here is my opinion. Septums are the MA that cause the most amount of m/c. Having an m/c throws off your horomones and also your emotional health is comprimised as it is a very stressful event. It is proven that physical and emotional stress (which having and m/c is both) directly effects the immune system. It changes hormone responses that makes your immune system hyper- sensitive. This is not conducive to conception. This may be why after an m/c or multiple m/c people seem to have fertility issues. There are also papers written about women with unknown causes of infertility who do yoga with fertility drugs have a 30% higher chance of getting preg than those that don't. Relaxation is one of the keys to getting hormones regulated. I do yoga and although I am having problems getting preg a 4th time (3m/c's before resection) I have been under extreme stress. Yoga is the only thing that keeps me sane sometimes. - Liz Liz > >Reply-To: MullerianAnomalies >To: MullerianAnomalies >Subject: septate and fertility >Date: Mon, 07 Jun 2004 17:19:15 -0000 > _________________________________________________________________ FREE pop-up blocking with the new MSN Toolbar – get it now! http://toolbar.msn.click-url.com/go/onm00200415ave/direct/01/
