Guest guest
- My ob/gyn has not picked up > on it in 3 hysteroscopies, the RE I saw in Tulsa never picked up on > it during a saline sonogram in preperation for IVF and the > radiologist who read my HSG films didn't pick up on it. What RE did you see in Tulsa? Who is your ob/gyn? I can't possibly understand how frustrated you are but maybe I can send you into the right hands right here in Tulsa. Guest guest
, I am soooo sorry for all that you have been through. I am sorry for all of your losses and I am sorry that the medical community has obviously failed you. I do not understand how the septum could have been missed in light of ALL of the procedures that you have had done over the years. It reeks of utter incompetence. A lot of obs are not educated about MAs, but it doesn't take a specialist to tell that the saline sonogram was abnormal or to detect it with the hysteroscope. I'm so sorry. I guess I'm inclined to say that you can probably trust Dr. March. He sounds like the only one on the ball about finding your septum. Just fyi, but this board also has numerous stories about radiologists incorrectly identifying an MA (seems like they want to call anything abnormal a BU without investigating further - so be forewarned). Dr. March sounds good because he is taking the time to listen to you and answer your questions. I am impressed that he had already taken the time to talk to you 3 times in one day. Sounds like he is dedicated to correcting your SU. Maybe he can recommend an ob that you can see after the surgery. Did he tell you how long the septum was (full, partial?) I had one that went 1/3 the way down but was very wide at the top and took 2 surgeries to remove. My best advice is to make sure that they will do some kind of testing (usually about a month after surgery) to make sure that the septum is gone. They can do an HSG or SHG or in-office hys. These would also show that Asherman's had not affected the healing of your uterus after the resection. Ask him if he will take extra precautions because of the Asherman's - like putting in a balloon or having you take hormones after surgery. I'm am still taken back by your story. I hope that you find lots of support and answers here. Welcome, Sara 36, SU resected x2
Guest guest
Cory: I went to the Tulsa Center for Fertility & Womens Health. Dr. Prough, Blackwell and at the time Tredway. I won't go back there. I live in NW Arkansas, so my ob/gyn is here.
Guest guest
Sara: I was consulting with Dr. March about the ashermans originally because I know that I have that. Surgery in November revealed it. I am floored that he caught the septum. Dr. March is probably the best surgeon for me to have all of this repaired with, I am still reeling with the news. Guest guest
: The doctor I see in Tulsa goes by the name of Bundren. He is an infertility specialist as well as a highrisk ob/gyn. My first 2 pregnancies were much the same. I saw a heartbeat only to loose the baby 4 weeks later. On the ultrasound of my second pregnancy, Bundren sent me to the hospital for a better ultrasound to check out my uterus. There he saw a dip and immediately said I was SU. I had another d & c and was schedule for lap/hyst to resect. He never once questioned his judgment so I never had an MRI or dye test. I never had to take hormones or have a balloon inserted even though the septum was the length of the uterus. I had a dye test to confirm the resection and was giving the green light to ttc two mths later. Bundren was on the team for the first test tube baby and now functions mainly in fertility. He only ob's one morning a week for his cases he helped become pregnant. He does around 1-3 lap/hyst a week for either resections or exploratory. I don't mean to plug my doctor over and over but he got to the bottom of my problem without me having to endure more than 2 miscarriages. He immediatly started looking for answers. I just want you to know that there is a competent doctor in Tulsa instead of traveling to CA. I know you didn't ask for this kind of help and I hope you aren't offended by my suggestion. I hope you the best with your new journey. It has to be smoother than your past. Let me know if you need any more information or if I can help you in anyway. I know how frustrating it is to have such a hard time with carrying a baby. Cory 2 m/c's SU resected 09/03 21 wks > Cory: > > I went to the Tulsa Center for Fertility & Womens Health.
