Guest guest
Hi Jasmine, I'm glad that you got the responses that you wanted to help you make your decision. I really think that you will be happy that you did it. I also wanted to say " Way to go!! " with the weight loss. It doesn't sound like your dr is giving you much credit for what you have already accomplished. I'm still really surprised with his amount of concern over your weight. It just doesn't make sense. One of my coworkers is having surgery next week. She will have a lap to remove a cyst from her ovary. It will be done under general anesthesia and she will have 3 incisions for the lap. She is 5'3 " and a little over 260 and her ob has not been concerned about her weight for this procedure. I would think that her procedure would carry similar risks as the lap/hys for resection. Wishing you tons of luck with your surgery! Sara
Guest guest
Hi Jasmine, I am so happy for you that you were able to decide to do the surgery. I don't get to read every day so I missed telling you how happy I am that I got resected. I had many early mc and I now have a new hope that when I am pg again it will be for good this time. Also congrats on losing weight. I know how hard that can be. It seems as though your Dr is unneccesarily scaring you. I hope not. You are doing great!!! One thing I wanted to share is that I did not have the lap with the hyst and now I really wish I had. I still wonder if I have endo or anything else I should be worried about. I also did not have a follow up hysterogram(I think that is what it is called) to make sure it was gone. My Dr did it during the surgery and I got to see a picture briefly was I was still groggy from the anesthesia. It would be more comforting to have had those two things. Just a thought for you as you move foward:) Sending you good vibes, Kim 32, SU rect Feb 04, TTC;) Wow, I'm so grateful for all of your answers. (m/c, ttc mentioned) It has been so helpful to hear from ALL of you. I was so excited to go in for the surgery and meeting with the doctor had totally knocked the wind out of my sails. It has been so helpful to hear all of the input from all of you who have had the resection and also those of you who haven't. I spoke to my regular ob/gyn yesterday who has suffered 4 miscarriages but doesn't have an MA and she really feels that I should have the surgery, no questions asked. She basically echoed the opinions here that the risk of having something go wrong with the surgery is so small and the chance of something going wrong with any future pregnancies is so large. I do find it so much more helpful, though, to actually hear from women who have had the procedure done instead of a doctor who's read about it being done (my reg. ob/gyn). As of today I'm planning on having the resection--now let's keep our fingers crossed that the doctor doesn't scare the heck out of me at the pre-op appointment! Oh, and one more crumby thing, he says it will be ideal if I lose 5- 10 lbs. before the surgery One more thing to look forward to...not! lol Diane, I think it's great your doctor isn't giving you a hard time about weight, will he call my doctor? I'm 5'6 " and weight 178. I've gone down from 204 over the past year which is super hard especially with the PCOS! I'll give you my doctor's number! Good luck to all of you who are planning on getting the surgery, those ttc, those who are currently pregnant, and the rest of you as well! Thank you so much XOXOXO Jasmine Share bookmarks: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MullerianAnomalies/links/ Share files: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MullerianAnomalies/files/ The Congenital Uterine Anomalies Home Page: http://www.wegrokit.com/uterineanomalies/ es/ The Congenital Uterine Anomalies Home Page: http://www.wegrokit.com/uterineanomalies/
