Guest guest Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 I got up this morning at 10:00 a.m. because the BUZZFest tickets went on sale then. I had to buy my tickets first of course! I could have went back to bed but oh well. Just been cleaning and checking e-mail and etc. It's too loud to sleep in around here. They are doing construction on our apt building (5 million dollars worth so the signs say) and I feel like I'm living IN a construction site. Oh well. It won't last for long I guess and things will look a million (or 5 million) times better right? LOL! I didn't see anything wrong with them in the first place but what do I know! I start my 7 tomorrow so this is my last day to rest and relax! Have a great day all! Re:for If your off today why are you up so early?????????????? sleep in!!! Guest guest Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 LOL now THAT is funny!! I love it! Maybe we can use this the next time a salesman calls us. LOLKathleenThe phone rang as I was setting down to my anticipated evening meal, and as I answered it I was greeted with, "Is this Wagenhoss?" This didn't sound anything like my name, so I asked, "Who is calling?" The telemarketer said he was with The Rubberband-Powered Freezer Company or something like that and then I asked him if he knew personally and why was he was calling this number. I then said off to the side, "Get really good pictures of the body and all the blood." I then turned back to the phone and advised the caller that he had entered a murder scene and must stay on the line because we had already traced this call and he would be receiving a summons to appear in the local courthouse to testify in this murder case. I then questioned the caller at great length as to his name, address, phone number at home, at work, who he worked for, how he knew the dead guy and could he prove where he had been about one hour before he made this call. The telemarketer was getting very concerned and his answers were given in a shaky voice. I proceeded to tell him we had located his position at his work place and the police were entering the building to take him into custody. At that point, I heard the phone fall and the scurrying of his running away. My wife asked me as I returned to our table, why I had tears streaming down my face and so help me, I couldn't tell her for about fifteen minutes. My meal was cold, but oh-so-very enjoyable. Quote

Guest guest Posted September 10, 2005 Report Posted September 10, 2005 Sounds like a great idea Kathleen and for sure something I would do. I don't have a home phone anymore. Just my cell phone. Don't need a home phone anymore BUT if I had one...you know I would do it! I don't get any telemarketers or etc. on my cell phone (yet) so that's a good thing. For Hi ! Guest guest Posted April 16, 2006 Report Posted April 16, 2006 Here are some organizations in Texas, that may be able to help your financial situation: http://www.pccctx.com/links.shtml To help fight for her disability benefits: To find free legal servicesIf a government office can’t help, there are two places to contact when you need a lawyer, but can’t afford one. The Legal Services Corporation provides free legal services to those that meet certain income requirements. If you exceed those limits, they may be able to refer you to some place for more help. They have offices throughout the country. Legal Services Corporation, 3333 K St., NW, 3rd Floor, Washington, DC 20009; ; www.lsc.gov. Many lawyers work pro bono depending upon your situation. Contact your state bar association to see if someone there can help. You can contact your state capitol operator by calling 411, or the American Bar Association, 321 N. St., Chicago, IL 60610; ; www.abanet.org/soc/probono/pip.html. Free Legal Help for People with Disabilities The disability laws not only cover people with disabilities that everyone can see. It's also for children who aren't getting the education they need from the local school, or for the cancer patient who feels discriminated against at work. A free hotline will help you learn about your rights, help you enforce them, and will even handle some high impact legal cases. Contact Disability Rights Education and Defense Fund, Inc., 2212 Sixth Street, Berkeley, CA 94710; V/TTY; Fax: ; edf@... or www.dredf.org. Quote
