I still have some memory problems. Short term. When I try to remember someone's name, sometimes I can't, or it takes a couple of minutes. If someone ask me a question, sometimes it takes a moment to answer.

It just seems like I am in a grey fog so much of the time. A new dress is the last thing I want to shop for... As a matter of fact SHOPPING is the last thing I want to do. Lordy is this NORMAL??

I find I think I have REALLY done something if I make it through the day without a nap!!! This is NOT ME at ALL!!! Why can't I keep my blood counts UP??????

So you'll buy something new to wear...this is the NEW you after all! Something pretty to cheer you up. Don't get down on yourself for the weight; you have time after all your treatment. Just keep up your strength. It's tough on your body to kick you know what, but let it kick!!

I'm sorry you're feeling so tired this time; hopefully, you will feel better tomorrow...it's a new day and maybe you'll feel up to gardening then.

I started chemo in July during my favorite season. I barely left my bathrobe for those couple of days after each treatment.

Have a good night's rest.

XOXOX

I printed out your email to remind myself of veggies and fruit to eat. Thanks a lot.

I am having a lot of problems with my skin peeling on my hands and especially on my fingertips. So I am working with two out of ten fingers and thumbs that are so sore that I cannot touch them. My excuse for bad typing.

do you think snacking on raw carrots would benefit too?

I think it would be a wonderful idea, since you already went to Wal-Mart.

Here's what I found about nutritional information on raw carrots. Approximately one cup of carrot juice is equivalent to four cups of raw, chopped carrots. Bolthouse Farms juices offer "mixed" carrot blend, which is not 100% carrots. Someone had written in about turning an "orange" shade from too much beta-carotene - guess she over did it!

One carrot (7 1/2" long) has 2025 RE of vitamin A, which is 203% of your Daily Value. One pound of carrots has 1276% of your RDA for vitamin A. So since you have eaten more than 3 carrots in a day (> 34,000 IU), you have probably saturated your body's ability to store vitamin A over a short time and so it is showing up as an orange tint on your skin. I would suggest you decrease your carrot consumption and increase other low vitamin A vegetables.

Broccoli (1 spear has 232 RE of vitamin A) and other foods high in vitamin A or carotene will do the same, but you would have to eat almost 9 broccoli spears to equal the vitamin A in one carrot. Eat any raw vegetable that you like and try a greater variety. Vegetables higher in carbohydrate and calories like corn, peas, lima beans, winter squash aren't too tastey raw. Try including cauliflower, bell peppers, pea pods, cherry tomatoes and celery.

Thanks for the info . I do know that getting too much of Vit A is bad for you. So I would stick to half carrot and half orange or other similar juice. I looked at my pure carrot juice (not from concentrate) and the brand is Hollywood in 12 oz size. I think I will take 4 oz from that twice a day mixed with juice. It is supposed to be one serving at 12 oz. I don't think so!!!!!!

Also, V-8 has some new flavors out so check it out. They even have the hot and spicy which I accidentally bought. I'll return them or give to my sons.
