Guest guest
Hi everyone, Friday was a happy day for me - thank you so much to all of you for the good wishes on the prednisone taper. I appreciate it, and I've been reading the other posts about the prednisone taper with great interest. I'm glad I can finally be weaned off of it. Been waiting for a long time - esp in the last month, when the moonface and double chin and big gut and hair growth and other changes in appearance were *very* apparent. For our 1st year wedding anniversary, he took me to a " surprise " trip to Chateau Lake Louise in the Rocky Mountains for overnight stay. It was totally a break that we needed - did a couple of hikes, explored the hotel, ate way too much....not good when on the pred. ; ) I guess at 25 mg, it's really not different than at 30 mg. Although I am not getting extreme hunger pangs - then again, with Thanksgiving, I don't think there was any opportunity to go hungry, really. I did notice when I was thirsty, the thirst has not been as terrible as before. Unfortunately, the gut and the feet swelling are still there, which means I need to wear a corset for the dance competition - and I never had to do that before - and my dance shoes will hopefully be ok to wear or I will have to buy new ones. And the competition is less than two weeks away. Yikes!!! Amy - it sounds like you had an awesome trip, where exactly is Brackenridge? Guest guest
Hi Sophia, Happy Anniversary! Lake Louise is incredibly beautiful and I am so glad you got to get away and celebrate your special day. Hard to believe a year has already passed since you got married. Best wishes for your dance competition...hope the corset is not too uncomfortable. Guest guest
Sophia, Congratulations on the prednisone wean....that can put you on cloud nine for weeks. ) Also a Very Happy Anniversary to you and your husband. It sounds like you had a wonderful time at Lake Louise. Breckenridge is in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado....just South West from Denver....and about 4000 feet higher. It's a big ski resort town and since it's still considered off season we had the town and the resort basically to ourselves. We drove back to Colorado Springs on Tuesday and then Tuesday night they got hit with a bunch of snow up there...we got out just in time as the ski hills will be opening this weekend if they can make enough man made snow to add to the natural stuff that fell. It was a lovely break for me and the kids. Amy G. the weekend and the taper > > > Hi everyone, > > Friday was a happy day for me - thank you so much to all of you for > the good wishes on the prednisone taper. Guest guest
Hi Amy, Yes, even dropping 5 mg this week has stopped this crazy thirst that i've had for months and the swelling has gone down the tiniest bit...at least, that is what I tell myself! Wow, that sounds like such an awesome vacation! : ) Kris has been to Denver a few times for work and really likes the area...the city is quite similar to Calgary - except bigger, of course. ; ) Colorado and the mountains there we hear are really awesome and one day we would like to go visit there. We don't ski, but we would love to go there and hike! I think if we plan a trip there I will definitely suggest Breckenridge! I'm glad that you and the kids had a great time there, now I want to go see. ; ) Sophia > Sophia, > Congratulations on the prednisone wean....that can put you on cloud nine > for weeks. ) Also a Very Happy Anniversary to you and your husband.
