Guest guest
Hi Jeannie, Welcome aboard! You are so young to have ALS. It goes to show that diseases don't discriminate. I pray that the cure will come soon and that you will bring up baby till the baby is in 50's or 60's even. Hang around, we are here for you if you need to vent or just talk. God Bless Yolanda Hi Group Hi all, I just joined this group the past couple of days ago, I have als so I do hope you don't mind me being here. I am also a member of yahoo als group but rarely post I started having symptoms back in around June 2000 when I was pregnant, didn't think nothing of it as thought the baby may of been hitting on a nerve, how wrong was I lol. After my baby was born in Feb 01 my symptoms was still there, I went to Dr's in march got referred to see a neuro, Got appointment for June 01, and after several tests got dxed with PLS, I was not happy with dx as I knew it was ALS because of slight wasting in the small muscles of my hands, got second opinion in Nov 01 the dx was ALS as I thought, I had just past my 22nd bday (March) So Ive had als just over 3 1/2 years. Now I'm 25 years of age my current symptoms are as followed Arms weak, Speech slurd but understandable, wasting in hands shoulders and forearm, very spastic especially in legs thus this makes walking hard, tho I can still walk around house on my own, use scooter out doors. breathing and eating are fine. I hope in some way I may be able to give you some kinda support. Take care god bless Jean

Guest guest
Hi Jeannie, Welcome to one of the finest groups on the internet. I am so sorry about your diagnosis, and for someone so young, I am especially disheartened for you. You do sound like you have an amazing attitude, and that's at least 1/2 the battle. I am glad that after 3 1/2 years, you are still doing pretty good. It's wonderful that you can still get around, and your breathing and eating are going okay. Once again, welcome, and God bless you!
