Guest guest Posted March 17, 2006 Report Posted March 17, 2006 Great that you had your surgery as I remember that was a big deal in getting a surgeon since you are in the armed forces. Next will be a visit with your onc. as to your treatment. Do you know what type of cancer it was? SharonC SHARON COLEY DIRECTOR OF SALES DOUBLETREE HOTEL LOS ANGELES/ROSEMEAD 888 MONTEBELLO BLVD. Guest guest Posted March 17, 2006 Report Posted March 17, 2006 Hi Sharon, as far as I know it was and still is Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, now officially with a 2.02 cm tumor, clean margins (8mm) and two positive knots, making me IDC Stage IIa. The tumor is ER/PR positive and I will meet with the Onc on April 4th. Thank you for asking Hugs, Caren in Kansas IDC Stage IIa FBCS > > Great that you had your surgery as I remember that was a big deal in getting a surgeon since you are in the armed forces. > > Next will be a visit with your onc. as to your treatment. Guest guest Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 Dell, I think everyone worries about their cancer coming back. It will be 16 yrs for me in May. I thought about it more in the first few years but it does get better. Just try not to dwell on it. Guest guest Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 Dell, I'm claiming my seat as a SURVIVOR. I'm currently going thru chemo and radiation to lessen my chance and releave most of my fears of reoccurence. For me it's like treating for termites. The little " what if's " (termites) have a way of eating away at my foundation. So I am getting aggressive with the extermination. It doesn't mean that I won't get this again. It means I've done my part to see to it that I'm protected. Don't let the " what if's " eat at what little peace you have. SURVIVE!!!
