Hi,

I've been prescribed Maxepa. I take 10 capsules a day, in batches of

five twice a day, with meals. Each 1g capsule contains 170mg EPA and

115mg DHA.

I have noticed some digestive disturbance, putting it politely ;)

I have a hard time tolerating fish oil...I don't eat fish, so when I have fish

burps, it is hard for me take. But, the one thing my doctor said is that I

should take as much as I can possibly tolerate. Start with a certain dose and

keep working your way to a higher dose until you just can't tolerate it any

more. Just try to get a pure form. I have also been told that freezing the fish

oil pills helps to minimize the fishy side effects. Who knows if that is true,

but it is worth trying!!!

The fish oil I take has 200 mg of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) per

capsule. My Neph has prescribed 1200 mg of DHA a day. So I take six

of these capsules a day and have rally fishy breath.

I take Super purEPA by Solaray. Each capsule contains 360 mg EPA and 240 mg DHA,

and I take six each morning. After taking fish oil for awhile I tolerate it

well. The three

sodium bicarb I take give me far more " troubles. "

peace,

Some folks here have also reported less side effects with the enteric

capsules. I've noticed these are available at Costco.
