Guest guest Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 Is this a bread machine recipe, or a bake in the oven? Doesn't matter, either way I'll give it a try. Just tell me where you're from, because Texas seems to be less humid and I discovered I had to add liquid to my other favorite recipe (from when I was in Illinois). If you want to email me personally, it's victreenjesus@.... --loriann aka Victree the Christian clown -------------- Original message -------------- Hello all...I have been working on a recipe for a bun that mimics a brown-bread type/multigrain recipe. Many of us would like to have a multigrain option for buns, if we had the choice. The recipe has been very well received in my family (especially by my little SillyYak), but because it has a mixture of flours/ingredients I am curious to know if it would appeal to others. The texture of it, aside from sort of feeling like there is fiber in it (kind of like a regular brown bread where you can feel the bran, etc., in it), is nice and tender...springs back and is moist like my Grandma's Buns recipe. Does anyone want to be a guinea pig and try the recipe and then send me your comments...?C Quote
Guest guest Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 It is one to bake in a regular oven. I'm in Ohio...I would say that right now we're not very humid, but it certainly isn't dry, either! C Quote
Guest guest Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 I have been GF for a year now and in that time have not eaten bread. I tried a few early on and was so disappointed that I gave up. I would probably be a good experimenter (or bad depending on how you look at it). I'm willing to give it a shot. Guest guest Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 Please send it on. I don't have my stove hooked up yet, so it may be a delayed response, but I'd love to give my non-GF husband something he can eat that won't crumble all over the place and get in things and make me sick. ~Kristi -----Original Message-----From: SillyYaks [mailto:SillyYaks ]On Behalf Of cyebelSent: Thursday, March 16, 2006 7:45 AMTo: SillyYaks Subject: Anyone want to be a guinea pig...?Hello all...I have been working on a recipe for a bun that mimics a brown-bread type/multigrain recipe. Guest guest Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 Me, Me....pick me, pick me! I'd love to try your recipe. I can make it this morning as long as the ingredients are fairly standard and I'm likely to have them on hand. I do keep a wide variety of GF flours, etc around. Otherwise it might take me awhile since I live in the country (30+ minutes from any HFS) and I'm expecting a baby any time now. Could make getting to the store a challenge. Guest guest Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 I would be interested in trying it. I already know how great the grandma buns are! Thanks for asking. Guest guest Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 I'd be willing to test it! (translation: My mom would be!) There's 11 of us kids, and about five of us are Celiac or borderline. We'd love a new bun recipe... mom's been messing around with breads recently, but we haven't found anything we just love. Thanks! I would be interested in trying it. Guest guest Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 would it be possible to just POST the recipe and we can all try it and then get back to you? Or are you sending the bun for a taste-test, to preserve the secrecy of the ingredients (which is highly understandable)? > > Hello all... > > I have been working on a recipe for a bun that mimics a brown-bread > type/multigrain recipe. Guest guest Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 I fully intend to post the recipe here, but I would like to have some feedback on it...what if my family is full of whackos and we're the only ones on earth who find them edible? C Quote
