Are artificial colors in Costco cheese legal?...

At Costco they have blocks of Kirkland brand cheddar for about $2.50

per pound. It listed all the usual ingred. for cheddar cheese but

instead of " annato " for the color it just said, " artificial color. "

Anyone know if this is okay?
