Guest guest Posted February 13, 2006 Report Share Posted February 13, 2006 I just can't rid my gall bladder area of this excruciating pain. As some of you know I had my gall bladder, ovaries, and a large mass removed last Wed. I have had tremendous pain just under my right rib cage and permeating around to the back ever since the surgery.(before too) But Sunday it just got to be too much and I spent from 10am till 9pm in the emergency room at the hospital while they tried to find out what was causing the excessive pain. The only thing that would relieve the pain was Dilaudid. That is pretty heavy duty pain killer. I know this is a breast cancer site but has anyone experienced this sort of pain following gall bladder surgery? They ran the gambit of tests....x-rays, stomach scans, blood tests, and found nothing out of line except for my enlarged liver.... But said that wouldn't cause it. They concluded that the pain is just from the surgery and probably gas. I am due to start my chemo next Monday after being delayed for 3 weeks now due to this other problem with my gall bladder and ovaries.
